Eden and Hank hosted a Wizards of Waverly Place the Movie party on Friday night. Eden had cousin Lily over and Hank had Coy. Coy and Hank had just as much fun as the girls preparing and watching this movie. The kids ate homeade chili and hotdogs and then buttered popcorn and sour skittles (mixed in the same bowl). What a fun night.

My Little Artist
Here is a picture of Hank's art today that Kelly snapped with his camera phone. Hank is so proud and is doing GREAT in school. He has made friends and has seemed to have bonded with his teachers. I am so proud of him!

Introducing Oreo Lee
Our poor little Lola decided to escape out our back door about a month ago and we have been desperately looking for and hoping that she would find her way back home. After weeks of waiting and a depressed Rexie missing his playmate, we decided to get a new family member. We are still looking for Lola and hoping she will come home-but for now here is the newest Scruggs...Oreo!

Our Ocoee Island
Our last trip out to our island! And boy did we have a crew...20 plus people. We had good times eating, drinking, swimming, kids laughing and playing on the rope swing and the adults playing "Never have I ever" (that was interesting).
What an exciting and relaxing way to finish up our summer tent-camping season!! We will, however, be camper-camping for Labor Day weekend, but I am not counting that when we are going to have cable hook-up with GA football playing (can't wait) and sleeping in a real bed (sort of).

Family Assignment
Hank's Pre-K class sent home is his first family assignment for the year. We are supposed to get one once a month, but have already received a second waiting to be completed. This project was to decorate a cardboard boy to resemble himself. Eden and I helped out with this one and Hank really enjoyed it. I especially like his felt pants and blond spiky hair! Great job my Hankie!

Pre-K Beginnings
...not a very good start for the Hankster...or for Mom and Dad. Hank was not pleased with daddy dropping him off in a strange place with strange faces. Although we had had orientation, little Hank just wasn't quite ready for this transition. Good for me (and for Hank) I have several co-workers and friends who either work in his center or are in and out to service kids (i.e. what my job consists of) and were able to report to me his daily progress. I had my first call at 8:15 (Hank had been there only 20 minutes) with a report from friend #1 "that Dad had a hard time and poor Hank was chasing him down the hallway." Call two was from daddy himself informing me that he had to return Hank to his classroom two times before a teacher offered to help...very frustrating. At this point I had made several calls myself to check to make sure he was still in his class when he teachers tells me that they have had to block the door to keep him in. Call three was friend #1 saying he had calmed down and a trip to the playground had eased his spirits. Tear. Sigh. My poor baby.
Bedtime read---The Kissing Hand, in hopes of a better second day.
Day two seemed to be a little better. He cried at drop-off according to Dad. His teacher informed me that while trying to run out he had closed his hand in the door therefor making him even more upset...:( Spy #2 checked in on him to tell me that she witnessed him laughing and playing. Smile. Not once, but twice. Yay Hank. At pick-up he tells daddy "I had a good day." Prayers answered.
What a rough start. I continue to pray for strength for my precious boy. I will definitely keep everyone informed on his progress...lets just hope it gets better :)
