The Year of the Bon Bon

My little Bon Bon! Her's eyes just lit up once on stage! She loves to dance and entertain--watch out world!
Posing with last year's Sugar Plum Fairy, Ms. JoBeth
After her second performance with Ganny and with Hank.
Our fourth year of the Nutcracker is in the books! Eden has been anticipating this year's character for quite some time now. She loves to dance and the part of the Bon Bon is so high-spirited and uplifting that she just couldn't get enough of it! Now we are on to next year's role of the Rosebud and to pointe shoes-wow how time flies. Is my baby really getting this big?!

Seeing Red and Green

Getting the house decorated for Christmas is always such fun at the Scruggs house! I love this tiime of year!

Of course Scout made it back into town shortly after Thanksgiving...can't wait to see what this little fella has in store for us
Hank's tree and new dancing Santa hat!

Christmas is in the air...

Each year I like to take a special event or activity from the year and build our theme for our family Christmas cards. Last year was the Covenant "photo shoot," since I had (finally) graduated with my degree and this year is no different. I wanted to capture the beauty of our church and the very place our children were baptized, Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Eden was so excited to finally wear her favorite red dress and to Hank was happy to be allowed in the balcony, the pulpit, etc. Due to a habit for church members to linger around the sanctuary after Sunday service and have the audacity to stand where I wanted to capture my shots (hint of sarcasm) and the pastor slowly turning all the lights out...we had to defer to the Narthex and outdoors for our shots. It was a pretty day and the kids loved posing together. Here is what I captured...
