We went to Jennifer and Rick's this weekend for a visit. Stajja and Dalton were there and they had such a good time with Eden and Hank! Oh yeah, Zeus seemed to be entertaining for all!!
River just celecrated his 7th birhtday and will be in the 2nd grade this year. I can't believe he is getting so big, it seems like yesterday that I witnessed him being born. Here are some pictures from his party!
Here is the picture from our Florida Beach Trip that I entered in a contest for Snapfish and Embassy Suites. Well we found out today that Hank's picture is being used for an advertisement for this contest(a trip to Hawaii). It ran yesterday(July 13) and will run July 19th and 20th, and then again on August 2nd and 3rd in USA Today! We are so excited for our little man---I always knew he would break hearts one day but not this soon! Everyone check him out next week!
Eden had her first Ballet class tonight. She was really excited and she did really well. This was a 'pre-dance' class for the summer and if we like it she will start in the fall going on a weekly basis and have a recital at some point(I haven't received all the info). This class is just 2 nights for 2 weeks. Her Ganny is sponsering this class for her and she phoned her afterwards to show her great appreciation! Eden wasn't the most graceful in the class, I guess she gets that from me. Maybe she will soon show some skills that she maybe inherited from her Aunt Jennifer and Cousin Tina(we will take all pointers). All jokes aside, she was really cute and seemed to enjoy herself. I can't wait until Thursday--we plan on going shopping for a new Tutu and shoes. I will keep everyone updated on her progress!
We went to Church this morning for the first time in a couple of weeks, we haven't been able to go due to being out of town and then Hank was sick. We had only been home long enough to feed the kids a sandwhich when we received a phone call that someone wanted to see our house. So we scrambled for about 30 minutes getting everything picked up and then off we went again to kill time. This time we just drove around looking at houses in our area that might be having open house(this is a new hobby of ours). We came home and of course Eden wanted to work on her stone, it had completely dried. So after naps and dinner we finished what is now our family 'Master Piece." Eden wanted her name and Nanny written on it(she loves her Nanny) and she wants to put it in her room instead of outside. Hank decided to help by climbing on the chair and then on to the table, climbing is his new hobby! We had a nice, simple weekend.
We had to leave the house on Saturday for it to be shown(it's for sale for those of you who didn't know), so we decided to head up to Hamilton Place for some fun. We had lunch and then went to the play center inside the mall for the kids to play. The kids love it! This was the first time that Hank was actually able to play and get around on his own at this particular park. Eden loves climbing on the dog, we have four seperate pictures of her on it. After the mall we came home and decided to do some arts and crafts. We worked on a stepping stone that Eden got for her birthday. We had to paint the bugs and allow them to dry and then mix the cement and allow it to dry over night with the bugs in them. Meanwhile Hank did some more cleaning. We had a great afternoon and hopefully we have a buyer for our house!!
We had a great day. We went to Little Granny's to swim and cookout. The kids played and swam while we all played volleyball. This is a family tradition that has been going on as long as I can remember. Afterwards we came home and shot fireworks with Heidi, Justin, and River. Eden said they were 'awesome' and 'unbelieveable!' Amazingly, Hank slept through it all.
We had a good time just hanging around the house this weekend. We played on the porch and let the kids play in the kiddie pool. Maybe we should have put a swim diaper on Hank!
Eden and I sat together in the chair last night eating popcorn after Hank had gone to bed. After a few minutes of silence and nothing but the sound of popcorn crunching, Eden looked up at me and told me I was beautiful and that she loved me and then she kissed me. I never would have imagined 4 years ago, after giving birth to this little miracle, that she would sit in my lap and speak to me like a 'big girl.' She is definitely something to be proud of. I love you too my little bug(Edibug).
It has been a day of cleaning and re-sorting after a whole week away from the house. It was hard to get the kids down for the night, but we did it and all is quiet at 9:30. It is really strange to come home after a week's vacation. I felt like were living a different life while at the beach, I didn't have to share Kelly with ball fields and I didn't have to drag the kids out of bed at six in the morning. Now tomorrow it is back to the daily grind of school and work and having to cook dinner. I guess that is why it is called a vacation 'get-away' because you have to come back. Kelly and I have decided we would like to retire on the water some day, if not sooner. It doesn't have to be the beach just somewhere peaceful and serene.
We just finished the long, 9 hour drive home from New Smyrna Beach where we were joined with Kelly's Mom and Step-dad and my family stayed in Daytona(mom, pops, Heidi, Justin and River). The kids handled the trip wonderfully(the new DVD players helped) and were great at the condo. We stayed at the Ebb Tide Resort which was great with it's panoramic view and plenty of room for toys and the pack-in-play. Hank was a little timid at first with the sand and the ocean(being his first time as a toddler), yet Eden was full blast and loved it all. Kelly and I enjoyed our time with the kids and each other without the hassles of work and daily life! We are already looking forward to next year!!
Joanna and Kelly ScruggsWhat a weekend! Kelly was a little under the weather so I had to handle several family outings by myself. We finished up Bible school Friday night with a blast. Eden enjoyed singing on the stage and showing off her dancing. On Saturday we went to Eden's friend Ashley's birthday party--it was crazy. Sunday was spent on Carter's Lake with Heidi, Justin and River on their boat. It was the kids first experience on the water in a boat. We all really had a blast and got a little too much sun!
We have had a great week. Eden has been to Bible school all week in the evenings so it has us off our normal schedule but she has had fun with Cody. Not much going on for this weekend, I think we are heading out to the lake with Justin and Heidi.ins and outs

My babies and me on my special day; Mother's Day! I never thought being a mom could be so grand!
