GA v. GA TECH

Heading to Athens at 7 AM; ready to cheer on the dogs...in the pouring rain!

Still dry-in the car waiting as long as we could before we had to start walking!

After a quick stop at Wal-mart for boots, a hat and long sleeve Georgia shirt for me, and two ponchos...this is how we looked. Soaking wet GA fans! We blended in well.

Clean and dry and ready for dinner...before passing out at 7 PM in Athens! What fun we are!!

Scruggs Thanksgiving

We traveled to Atlanta to have dinner with the Scruggs on Friday...another day of socializing and eating to our hearts content!

Eden with Mamie and Aunt Emma

What I made:
Piccadilly Style Squash Casserole
1 lb. yellow squash, cooked, drained, and mashed
1 c. chopped green peppers
1/2 roll Ritz crackers, crushed
1/4 c. butter, melted
2 c. grated cheese (save sm. amount for top)
1 med. onion, chopped
1 egg, beaten well
Salt and pepper to taste

Mix all ingredients and put in 1 1/2 quart casserole. Sprinkle a few cracker crumbs on top and bake at 400 degrees about 30 minutes until firm and slightly brown. Sprinkle a little cheese on top and put lid on to melt after cooked.

Just Relaxing

I guess Rexie and Lola got their bellies full over the holiday as well...lazy kitties

Waiting

Clutching that pillow tight...sure does make it hard to make the transaction (switching tooth for a dollar)! She was so excited.

Thanksgiving

Here we are once again; a day of overeating and football watching! Everyone works so hard preparing food and getting things in order for our huge family to stuff ourselves full, especially Little Granny. As usual, it was all wonderful, and we are all stuffed to the max! Thanks to all of my family for such a wonderful day!

#4

Eden has lost her fourth tooth. It was exactly one year ago this weekend that she lost her very first one. She is so proud and, of course, can't wait for the Tooth Fairy tonight!

Thanksgiving Eve

Kelly and I headed out for a night with friends. Thanksgiving is a great time to go out in Dalton, every one is home for the holidays and it is a great time to catch up!

Happy 7th

Happy anniversary to us. What a day...we spent it with the kids at IHOP; nothin' says lovin'like a stack of pancakes! lol

Seven years, 2 kids, 2 houses, 2 cats later...and still hanging in there. I can't believe it has been seven years!

And the two that make it all worth it

Scout

He's back...Santa has officially sent his helper-Elf, Scout, to keep an eye on the kids this holiday season. He is here to report to Santa if Eden and Hank are naughty or nice and to give Santa an idea of what they are wanting for Christmas!

Eden was so excited to see her old friend grace our fireplace, accompanied with squeals and screams (you would have thought he was a rock star).

Hank is too young to remember Scout visiting last year...and isn't quite sure what to think of this awkward lil' elf on our shelf! We are going to get the book out tomorrow and re-read the story-hopefully he will not be frightful for long!

The book

Slumber Party

We are trying to convince our children that sleeping in Mommy and Daddy's bed is a privilege, one that they earn. To earn this privilege the kids are to at least attempt to sleep in their own beds Sunday through Thursday night. So far, we have not been very successful. To encourage this practice we have made the weekends award nights, where the kids are allowed to have a slumber party with us. The night usually ends with Kelly moving to Hank's bed, me squished all the way to the edge of my side, and these two sprawled out across the entire circumference or our king size bed. Some mornings I wake to find them snuggled together...it is just to sweet to turn them away at night when they end up like this!

Family Game Night

This is the image that Heidi and I walked in on after our movie date with the girls...what a sight! Here is River, Eden, Hank, Coy, and Uncle Justin playing Twister! Such fun!

1st Grade PTA

Eden had her very first ever PTA program! She was so excited. Of course the theme was Thanksgiving. They sang 4 songs with speaking parts in between telling a story. Eden really enjoyed the spotlight!

Eden speaking her part: "I think I am beginning to see what Thanksgiving is all about. It's things like family, friends, and our good health." What a star she was. She had one of the longest parts to speak and she did great!

Proud mommy.

Old Favorites

Here are the Scruggs family favorite Christmas movies. The kids are actually watching Christmas Vacation as I type. These two movies will be played at least 3 times weekly till Christmas day!! I am so excited for the holidays!
