Team Party!

Although reluctant to begin...I absolutely loved coaching these little guys. I not only learned the game of soccer but I learned that maybe, just maybe I could coach (something) one day! I am really looking forward to next year and coaching his team again. Hank made me and his daddy proud (along with the whole family) with showing us that he was able to participate in a team sport and be successful. Go Navy!!

The Fair

The annual Agricultural fair was in town for over a week...and what is the Fall season without a trip?! The fair in north GA has always been a constant in both mine and Kelly's lives since we were little and ever since Eden was born we have always made sure we take our children. We just love it--nothing beats the smell of fried food and livestock and the sound of Monster Ballads playing over the loud speakers...fun times:)

Pumpkins and more Pumpkin

The kids got them a new friend to play with...

After bath and ready for final results!

We had a fun and lazy Sunday evening "gutting" and carving our pumpkins! The kids were so excited and couldn't wait to carve their pumpkins. I just love this time of year!
Of course we couldn't carve pumpkins without a taste of what's inside...

Pumpkin Marble Cheesecake
And no, I didn't use real pumpkin (although I did toast our seeds)-I used this recipe with canned pumpkin!

The Apple Festival

What a weekend to start off our Fall season! We started with Eden's school Fall Festival--a fun night with games, food, and a showing of  Charlie Brown's The Great Pumpkin. This evening kicked off the kids long Fall Break weekend. We left out Saturday morning and headed to North Carolina for our special trip on the Great Smoky Mountain Railway. We spent time in the small town of Bryson City eating, shopping, and exploring before boarding our train to Dillsboro where Charlie Brown and friends were waiting in the Pumpkin Patch. The kids had fun trick-or-treating, playing games, and picking out their pumpkins to take home. This was Eden and Hank's first trip on a train and they really enjoyed it...a little nerve racking for me (scary). On Sunday we headed out, stopping at the Nantahala Outdoor Center to explore and eat a great breakfast where the kids got to see daddy fight off a snake sitting between the rocks where the kids were playing (what an experience that was). From there we cute across the mountains and landed in Ellijay and spent time there at the annual Apple Festival where we bought some yummy Golden Delicious apples (my fave), apple pies, and fritters!!

A great family weekend! We had so much fun, thanks Nanny! We love you :)
