Second, First Day

Today was Eden's first day back to school since being on Christmas break, since December 21. She was so excited and was really anxious to be back with Mrs. Rutledge (who has been on maternity leave since October). As I was getting ready to leave this morning I had a sentimental, mushy-mommy-moment, and was thinking about how this was the last semester of her Kindergarten year and that soon she would be a First grader. Many of you know that we have had a tough time with Eden's behavior and discipline problems since she began Kindergarten back in August, so I was really anxious to see how Ms. Bug would handle three weeks off and a first day back with her "real" teacher. I was tearful as we headed out the door this morning, just noting how much she has matured from a squeamish just-turned-five-year old to a proud, confident almost-six-year old. Just ask her daddy, who takes her to school everyday, she no longer 'wants' him to walk her in anymore--she is let out at the door, with the "Big" kids. She is so sweet and so smart--her teacher said she had an awesome first day back! Way to go my Edibug--and yes we can get your nails done on Friday! Job well-done!
